Since English is the language of instruction at McKenzie College, all applicants who wish to enter a Certificate or Diploma program must prove adequate proficiency in English as a prerequisite to admission.
All international applicants will be required to provide proof of proficiency in English in ONE (1) of the following ways:
ART & DESIGN PROGRAMS
IELTS 6.0 Overall (General or Academic) with no Band below 5.5
PEARSON TEST Minimum score of 50
TOEFL Minimum test score of 61 (Internet-based test:TOEFL@IBT)
CAEL Minimum band of 60
BUSINESS PROGRAMS
IELTS 6.5 Overall (General or Academic) with no Band below 6.0
PEARSON TEST Minimum score of 58
TOEFL Minimum test score of 79 (Internet-based test:TOEFL@IBT)
CAEL Minimum band of 70
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
IELTS 7.0 Overall (General or Academic) with no Band below 6.5
PEARSON TEST Minimum score of 65
CAEL Minimum band of 70
TOEFL Minimum test score of 96 (Internet-based test:TOEFL@IBT)
ART & DESIGN PROGRAMS
English for Academic Purposes, Level 5 (EAP5) at 70% with no component lower than 65%
BUSINESS PROGRAMS
English for Academic Purposes, Level 5 (EAP5) at 75% with no component lower than 70%
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
English for Academic Purposes, Level 5 (EAP5) at 80% with no component lower than 75%
Standardized test results must be issued directly from the testing office. Photocopies will not be accepted. Test scores must be valid and verifiable. Scores more than three years old will not be accepted.
Additional standardized English tests may be accepted. Please contact our Admission’s Department.
(DUOLINGO is not accepted)
Students who are conditionally accepted to McKenzie College but do not meet these language requirements must complete their English Language Training through our Language Learning Centre.
